Managed Forex Program Calypso1

Had a request from a reader to blog more often, I'll try and do so.  Thanks for your feedback.  Please feel free to contact me anytime, we have the time and will take the time to help you where we can, we do have a staff here aside from myself.  Also remember the most important part - you don't pay any more or less to work with us, the managers pay us directly unless we own the manager, in which case you'll get a better deal going through us most likely.

Calypso and BAM Managed FX solid February

Calypso keeps rolling along, I think each day (if I'm wrong there was one small losing day) has been a winner since we last wrote at both PFG and Citi, missed a day or two at PFG with technical glitches but all should be in order now.  I am a fan of the system, daytrades in the afternoon, stops placed immediately when orders are filled, stops adjusted dynamically, and then of course the high win rate we've seen live, on statements, and in the backtests.  Good stuff.

Managed Forex Program, Calypso1

Been watching Calypso1 managed forex program perform, I like it as it is flat every day, sets stops as each trade is filled which keeps the risk under control.  And then the win rate has been over 80%, with the average loser a little bigger than the average loser - a system obviously isn't that exciting if the win rate is 80% but the losers are 400% of the winners.  Here they're roughly equal.  We've had money with them at Citi and are up 11% or so before fees in under a month, good month for the program.  PFG account up about 7% in a similar timeframe.

Calypso1, QV Managed Forex Programs

QV's managed forex program is fun to watch, most all winning days.  Great trader and a pleasure to work with, very meticulous in setting accounts up which I know translates into his trading.  Does what he says and has his own capital in the program alongside his clients' money.  That's very good.  Trading has been just like the statements and track record we have seen.  Bangs it out each day.

Calypso1, QV Managed Forex Programs

Calypso1 performed strongly today after a few back and forth days and has gone to new highs for us, performing very similarly to the statements and what we've been told by the trader.  I like the style very much, short term scalps, full auto, trades the asian session only.  Many days it has a very high win rate, like today, was 11 for 11 winners, of course that isn't always the case.  I'm impressed and will probably allocate more.  Met with PFG on it today, will trade there for QEPs and trading Citi for non-QEPs - namely Americans with smaller net worths, forei

Managed FX, more winners than losers

Full pipeline of new managers coming online, many well down the road of the process we put them through before rolling them out.  QV continues to make money, one losing day out of ten which he says to expect, can be as large as 5%, most winning days have been under 1%, and most days are winners from our experience, of course as they say past performance is not necessarily indicatitive of future results.  C1 we are now calling Calypso1, has been live three days for us.  Ten trades, nine winners, up about 0.74% today, they tell us this has been normal for them since they have been running it.  They keep the stops tight, but also say 10% on the downside they believe is possible, though -4% has been their worst to date.  Has a very high win rate on statements and live.  BAM continues to have a high number of winning days, but took a near max loss of 4+% the other day, putting them barely negative on the month -0.6%.

BAM and Aurel to new highs

We've started a few programs recently.  One that we have statements for and is doing as promised is Aurel.  Check their numbers under the Track Records tab, quite impressive.  They have been making money on our accounts, up about .3% so far.  Very low leverage usage, I like them.  BAM has also been doing well, roughly five trades in the last couple weeks, all winners, like to see that.

Lots of New Forex Managers to test

Been a long time - lots going on, we're still hard at work finding and testing emerging and established futures and forex money managers.  Lot of new ones on the list, some with solid proof of performance, some not.  Looking at Aurel, HMNH, Greenbox and X.  As always if you're interested in getting in let us know, happy to help.

CAM Managed Forex to Another New High

CAM to new highs yet again, now up about 2% on the month.  Has hit new highs each of the last four days.  Nice trading, he likes the markets and is trading well.  One very important point to note on his trading - he rarely uses more than 1:1 leverage, sometimes getting to 2:1.  Incredible returns when they are risk-adjusted.  Many Forex traders use 10:1, 20:1, as high as 100:1.   For CAM to generate the returns he does with such little leverage is extremely impressive.

Another product we are watching is Coral, a Swedish company that invests in money managers and allows people to purchase shares in the company.  They have three years of solid performance and have a solid edge in finding managers.  They returned over 60% to clients in 2007 and 2008 and are up over 20% this year so far with under a 1% drawdown, quite stunning.  We're sending money to them.

CAM- Doing great on low leverage usage, up over 2% on the month with nice winners and small losers, textbook.

Broadbeach- Down on the month, slower.

Chi - Getting started, close.

Genoa- Had one winner this month, riding his second trade, coming closer to profit.  The nature of his trading is to put one arbitrage on and hold until it stops out or comes into profit, has a very high win rate.

P15- Even last month, assume down this month as we haven't heard from the trader.

Plimsoll- No word.

Sebastian- Should be up and trading Monday at PFG.

SFX- Nearing new lows, system seems to be broken.

Smart-

Stryder- Winner yesterday, up on the month.

Stryder ETF-

Coral- Strong August performance, racking up yet another winning month.

Genoa to new highs, SFX off

Genoa to nice new highs on the month overnight, now up about 1.2% on the month of June, great to see.  Doing some good volume and this is just running Synthhedge, not the ArbConvergence which was discovered as an offshoot of Synthhedge.  Good stuff.  What I like best about this manager is he really really really hates losing money.  Best possible quality in a manager.  And he uses stops and is sharp.  We'll see if he continues to perform.  This is the longest winning streak I've seen out of him and it seems quite sustainable with the system(s) he runs, time will tell.

SFX on the other hand smacked over the weekend, now down over 3% from their highs a few months back, not good.

CAM- Up some more on the month overnight.

Genoa- Rock and roll, up 1.2% on the month, another winning night last night.  He's running at about 1/3 the leverage he would like to, which is great news.

Mucky Duck/Black Swan- Goes live tonight!

P15- Waiting on NFA

Ron- Has he gone live?  Supposed to any day.  Demo results great but who really cares about that.

RTI- Near new highs on the month, up around 4% in June.  Trade on now that is down some.

Sankaty/Nantucket- Also hurt over last week, fourth or fifth losing month in a row.  I have to question their track record.

SFX- Down a bunch, not good.

Smart- Working on an allocation, look great

Stryder- No trades

Stryder ETF- Flat to down

Danish Prop – Waiting on some anwers as they were flat near the end of their Saxo time.
