QV's managed forex program is fun to watch, most all winning days. Great trader and a pleasure to work with, very meticulous in setting accounts up which I know translates into his trading. Does what he says and has his own capital in the program alongside his clients' money. That's very good. Trading has been just like the statements and track record we have seen. Bangs it out each day.

BAM managed fx has been struggling, a couple losing days in a row which is highly unusual for them but not unheard of in their backtesting. Put them about 7.5% off their highs. Not so bad after an unblemished three months. We'll see how they come out of it. May be a case of too much money too fast.

Have a forex trader named Hank who is slaughtering it, scalping mostly but holding some, up over 20% in a week since we've had him live, also performing as his statements show. I forget exactly but has done something like run a 50k account to 190k or 20k to 190k or something nuts like that. 25% max drawdown, so pretty nice for the client that is with him as he has nearly broken that threshold on the upside. We'll see how things continue. He's fun to watch.

Broadbeach's managed currency program has had a few trades lately, up maybe 1% across all accounts last month, picking up some. We were audited for our semi-annual audit and was interesting going back through his statements, there were a few ridiculous months last year where he knocked it out of the park. Hope those times roll around again, we'll see.

Speaking of forex event trading, Stryder programmer has come up with a successful strategy called Dreadnought that we are running on our prop accounts and for a few clients, been doing well, very high win rate, good to see.

We seem to have built a nice stable of fx managers here, and are looking to add a new one each month to test with the high attrition rate we have in the business.

Ray is off about 4% from starting. Bull up a fraction. Starting EFX and XCM next week, if anybody has worked with them please let me know, will save us the trouble. Statements look very good, we'll see how they do on our capital.

Irid had a nice couple weeks, first two we started them and up over 5% in a flash. Encouraging.

Marek up a bit last month. SFX off yet again, haven't made money in a year after 20 straight winning months, happens.

Calypso1 performed strongly today after a few back and forth days and has gone to new highs for us, performing very similarly to the statements and what we've been told by the trader. I like the style very much, short term scalps, full auto, trades the asian session only. Many days it has a very high win rate, like today, was 11 for 11 winners, of course that isn't always the case. I'm impressed and will probably allocate more. Met with PFG on it today, will trade there for QEPs and trading Citi for non-QEPs - namely Americans with smaller net worths, foreigners are QEPs by definition which is nice. Their max downside has been 4% since going live, they believe 10% is possible but haven't come close. Would have to have a lot of losers in a row to get there.

Managed FX, more winners than losers

Full pipeline of new managers coming online, many well down the road of the process we put them through before rolling them out. QV continues to make money, one losing day out of ten which he says to expect, can be as large as 5%, most winning days have been under 1%, and most days are winners from our experience, of course as they say past performance is not necessarily indicatitive of future results. C1 we are now calling Calypso1, has been live three days for us. Ten trades, nine winners, up about 0.74% today, they tell us this has been normal for them since they have been running it. They keep the stops tight, but also say 10% on the downside they believe is possible, though -4% has been their worst to date. Has a very high win rate on statements and live. BAM continues to have a high number of winning days, but took a near max loss of 4+% the other day, putting them barely negative on the month -0.6%.

BAM- Lots of winning days, one losing day since last update. Makes it one losing day in three months.

Broadbeach- A few small winners lately at a couple firms.

EFX- Starting soon, numbers look outrageous, have statements. We shall see how it goes.

Henry- 25k acocunt to 200k in a few months, has large volatility, getting some money to him.

Marek- Keeps cranking it out.

C-1/Calypso1- 9 of 10 trades winners since we went live with them, I'm impressed. Very impressed. Fun to watch. Trades the Asian session full auto.

QVFX-Impressed, fun to watch, high daily win rate.

SFX- Blah.

Stryder- Down under 1% on the month/year.

Coral- Did a little over 1.1% in December, keep cranking it out, I like the way they work.

X- Working on a test account.

CAM- Down again, losing faith.

Ray-Started, flat so far.

Bull - Started, flat so far.

QVFX still rocking, BAM rocking

Quan continues his winning ways, par for the course it seems. Nothing outrageous, a fraction of a percent each day, flat every night, some losers sprinkled in with the winners, a sound intelligent strategy that works. Looking for an ideal firm to house him for the future, testing a number of them out with him, letting him decide which platform and all around package suits him.

BAM rocking as well, their backtesting is proving itself out day after day, two I think maybe three additional winning days since I last posted on the managed fx account blog. Running their winning streak into going on three months with nary a loser. As his backtesting suggests it will go. They have revamped the system actually to make more money - sacrificed from only one loser a year (backtested) to several more and even two losing days in a row - which actually would be ten percent, at 5% per losing day. Still pretty tolerable in my opinion. I'm sure three is possible too. Great to watch them trade. Solid crew.

C1 still very close to starting, also very high win percentages.

FST struggling - he's one who came in with a great record - though had two months of down, so at -3% over about four weeks we aren't too worried. however he never gave us statements which is annoying - though we know a group that has had him over a year and vouched for the numbers.

Cut HMNH today. Not impressed at down over 10% when he said he'd stop out at that level. This is why we start small with new traders, especially those that don't produce statements, shame on me for even the small amount we allocated.

And we have a crazy number of promising new traders we are getting going - hope to never repeat the mistake of not having a full pipeline of new talent coming in.

X is one we're trying, and others called Bull, Shiraz, ETX, and Ray. All with stellar records, we'll see how they run live on ours and client capital. Starting small as always.

QVFX performs as statements show, most all managers positive on the year

FX manager QVFX started for us a couple days ago and has performed just as we saw on the statements, which is/was terrific. Up 0.4% the first day, up about 0.5% the second. Quite something, I'm impressed. After more dialogue with the trader he does have stops predefined and he averages in to trades. We like his risk control and upside and solid track record.

Don't have my template here but will go through other updates.

C1 should go live next week.

Trying out two other new programs early next week, both look good, SZ and Mata. We'll see how they do, come from an independent source, same as QV came from.

Have eyes on a whole bunch right now, which is great. We made the mistake of letting our new fx manager pipeline dry out later last year while riding the success of Broadbeach.

FX CTA Marek is doing well this month, off to a good start. And Forex CTA CAM is also positive on the year so far, both good to see.

BAM to nice new highs as well, extending their winning trade streak into January, well done fellas. A good chunk of new assets were allocated to their managed forex program recently, nice to see them take it in stride. Great working with them. Invest with them here, small minimum of 5k.

Broadbeach also coming in with a small winner today at one firm that I saw, didn't get filled at the majority.

And on that note Aurapoint has added a new FX strategy trading eventson their proprietary accounts and THEY also made money. What a nice start to the year. I am thinking that just about everybody we track is off to a good start in 2010.

Coral Village was up 1.2% approximately for December, that fund is looking very strong.

Green being difficult to work with as always. I don't know when that will go live.

Genoa getting updated, tweaked software back next week.
